About Us:

Since 1923, Abrams Aerial Survey has been providing clients nationwide with aerial photography and digital mapping products. We have long-standing relationships with members of both the public and private sectors who rely on us because of our high standards and firm commitment to customer service.
During the late 1920s and early 1930s, Abrams was one of the earliest firms to obtain aerial photography of large land tracts for government agencies. The post-World War II years saw the firm expand its services from the act of "taking photographs from an airplane" into a highly precise photo interpretation and map-making technology that was adopted worldwide by private firms and government agencies.
Over the years, Abrams became a premier provider of advanced photogrammetric services by paying attention to technical quality, by hand-picking personnel with high academic and professional credentials, and by investing heavily in new technology.
In April 2003, Aerocon Photogrammetric Services Inc aquired the assets and business operations of Abrams, which operates as a subsidiary of Aerocon. Most of Abrams' most valuable assets, its employees, accepted positions with Aerocon in business development, aerial photography aquisition, and map data collection, ensuring a smooth transition of technology. As one enterprise with over 120 years of corporate experience, Aerocon and Abrams now offer their clients a greater range of services, production resources, financial stability, and extensive experience.
The environment and office layout at the 4500-square-foot production facility located in Sunfield MI, and the 10,000-square-foot facility located in Willoughby OH, encourages collaboration and interaction on all of the work that we do. The 10,000-square-foot facility has an environmentally controlled full-service photo lab; and both sites boast spacious production/demonstration, stereo digital data collection, digital orthophoto production, editing, office, and conference areas. In addition, we have two more technical support/project management offices in Indianapolis IN and Troy MI.
Without dedicated and intensely-trained personnel, the best technology would not be good enough. The most important part of Abrams is our staff, consisting of ASPRS-certified photogrammetrists, surveyors, geographers, computer analysts, FAA-certified pilots, aerial photographers, and technicians with an average experience level of more than 20 years.
Today's mapping industry is constantly changing with the introduction of new applications and procedures. Abrams staff keep abreast of current technology by attending seminars, conferences, and in-house training in topics ranging from aerial photography, to GIS uses and standards, to advanced computer applications.
